KMBC: Missouri Woman and Three-Time Recipient Says Organ Donation Gave Life Back to Her

A Missouri woman is sharing her story of how organ donation gave her life back during Donate Life Month.

Tricia Redmond from northeast Kansas was just 11 years old when a strep infection caused her kidneys to fail. Since then, she's had three kidney transplants, most recently in late 2021.

KMBC talked to Dr. Matthew Wilkinson, transplant surgeon at Saint Luke's Hospital, about the important role of living donors and why everyone should consider signing up to become a potential donor.
