Visitor Information

General guidelines

Visitors are welcome at all hours at Saint Luke's facilities. Visits from family and friends are an important part of the recovery process and can help reduce patient anxiety and stress. Our intensive care units, neonatal intensive care units, and maternity units may have more specific visiting hours or visitor restrictions. Please see facility-specific guidelines below.

  • All visitors under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient.
  • Visitors may be asked to temporarily step out of the room so staff can provide care.
  • Patient room bathrooms are for patient use only. Please use family restrooms located on or near the unit.
  • Number of visitors and visitation hours may vary on each unit.
  • Disruptive behavior or behavior that interferes with patient care may result in visitors being asked to leave.
  • Please do not visit if, in the past 10 days, you have been diagnosed with or have symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
Masks
  • Masks are required in all patient care areas for patients and visitors with symptoms of illness. Masks are optional for those without symptoms. Masking requirements vary by unit.
  • Masks are optional for all patients and visitors in assisted living and skilled nursing/long-term care areas of our senior living communities. Masking is required for any person with symptoms of respiratory illness entering or working in those areas. If these areas experience a rise in illness, masking will be required for all.
Smoking Policy

All Saint Luke’s Health System locations are smoke-free environments—inside and outside. The use of tobacco, marijuana, electronic cigarettes, and vapes is prohibited in all buildings, parking garages, and surrounding grounds of our hospitals and facilities.

Preventing Infections

Saint Luke’s is committed to providing a clean and safe hospital environment for our patients. Hand washing is an important measure in infection control. Health care workers clean their hands with alcohol-based sanitizers or wash with soap and water.

  • Visitors should wash hands before and after visits.
  • Visitors should follow hospital rules for visiting. In some instances, isolation precautions are necessary to protect patients and others from infectious diseases.
  • Visitors should avoid visiting after exposure to illness.
Cell Phones

Cell phones are allowed in most areas. Please keep devices on silent when possible.

Mail and Flowers

Our volunteers deliver mail and flowers to patients in the hospital. After discharge, any mail is forwarded to the patient’s home address. The delivery florists are responsible for redelivering flowers after discharge.

Correspondence should be addressed to: Patient’s Name c/o [Hospital Name and Address]

See below for details on specific guidelines at each of our facilities, including long-term care facilities.
