Media Coverage: Baby born early graduates from NICU at Saint Luke's East Hospital

Saint Luke's East Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit held a special graduation ceremony for one baby who beat the odds.

Brecken Harper was born at 32 weeks old-- eight weeks ahead of schedule. After spending 40 days in the NICU and growing strong, Brecken's family finally got to take him home. To celebrate, Saint Luke's held a graduation walk down the hallway on their way out, complete with cap and gown, and of course, a diploma.

KMBC and FOX4 talked to Brecken's parents and the NICU nurses at Saint Luke's East on the exciting occasion.

"He's had quite the NICU adventure, but he's come a very long way," said Brecken's mom, Krystal Harper.
