KSHB: Former Missouri College Football Coach Recalls Deadly 1990 Player Collapse

While watching Monday night’s Bills versus Bengals game, a former Missouri college football player had a flashback to 32 years ago when Derringer Cade, a junior, collapsed on the sideline and later died. 

It wasn’t until the 2000’s that automated external defibrillators (AED's) became common in workplaces and schools.

Dr. Anthony Magalski, cardiologist at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute and medical director of Saint Luke's Athletic Heart Clinic, talks to KSHB about the importance of knowing where AED's are and how to use them.
