The weather in Kansas City and surrounding areas can be dangerous and cause injuries if you aren't careful. Dr. Marc Larsen, Medical Director of Saint Luke's Community Hospitals, talks to KMBC's Kelly Eckerman about what types of injuries you could get if you slip and fall on the ice, when to come to a see a doctor, and shares tips on preventing injuries.

Dr. Larsen says that trying to brace yourself and protect your head when you fall is always better than having your head hit the ground. And, even though you may not hit your head, you could still suffer a concussion due to the jolt of your brain moving quickly and hitting inside your skull if you fall.
