In addition to providing county-wide emergency medical services, Anderson County EMS, a department of Anderson County Hospital, is passionate about community education and safety. As part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April, the team, led by Paramedic Ashli Gavel, pulled together emergency services resources from across the county to stage a powerful demonstration for students at Crest High School in Colony, Kansas.

The scene depicting the aftermath of a drunk driving accident involving four teenagers helped convey a powerful message about the impact of drinking and driving. Organizers hope that the demonstration makes a lasting impact on students and helps to influence the choices they make in the future.
