The United States has now seen more than 8 million coronavirus cases, according to a tally from Johns Hopkins University. Over 218,000 people nationwide have died due to the virus.

Dr. Marc Larsen, operations director for Saint Luke's COVID-19 response team, spoke to CBS Evening News report Mola Lenghi.
