Diabetes can be challenging, but you can lead an active, healthy, and satisfying life with the right skills and support.

Those with pre-diabetes or who have a strong family history of diabetes can learn how to delay or prevent Type 2 diabetes by eating healthy and committing to realistic lifestyle changes. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have lived with diabetes for years, Saint Luke’s provides education and nutrition counseling to help ensure your success.

Our certified diabetes educators offer several group and individual classes, including one-on-one diet and nutrition counseling to help recently diagnosed patients or those looking to better control their diabetes. Class topics include:

  • Managing your blood sugars—prevention and treatment of high and low blood sugars
  • Nutrition counseling and meal planning
  • Weight-management support and goal setting
  • Diabetes medications and how they work
  • Advanced insulin therapy/pump training
  • Continuous glucose sensor management
  • Diabetes prevention
  • Gestational diabetes

A family member is encouraged to attend sessions with you.
