KSHB: Kidney Transplant Recipient Shares Story, Encourages Organ Donation

Diane Hicks is a loving grandmother, big football fan and a kidney transplant recipient. Her two sisters had kidney failure before they passed, and her doctor saw similar complications in her. Diane worried she would face a similar fate, but a kidney transplant through Saint Luke's changed the game.

KSHB talked with Diane and Sreelatha Katari, MD, medical director of transplant nephrology at Saint Luke's Hospital Abdominal Transplant & Multispecialty Clinic, about the powerful impact of organ donation and Diane's second chance at life.
