KMBC: New Variants Cause Rise in COVID-19 Cases in Wyandotte County, Health Officials Say

Wyandotte County health leaders say COVID-19 cases are surging. The new variants are causing more people to get sick.

Wyandotte County public health leaders said the county sees an average of 56 cases daily. That's 60% higher than new cases at this time last year. But that does not include at-home tests.

KMBC talked to Ginny Boos, PhD, Director of Infection Prevention at Saint Luke's Health System, about why vaccinations and boosters are key as cases increase.
