Hedrick Medical Center scores high in employee engagement and satisfaction

Chillicothe, Mo. — Hedrick Medical Center employees agree: they like where they work. During the employee engagement and satisfaction survey, conducted annually by Saint Luke’s Health System, 88.2 percent of Hedrick Medical Center employees said they agree or strongly agree that they are satisfied with their jobs overall.

This year employees received a two-week window, May 15 – 31, in which to participate in the voluntary online survey. Hedrick Medical Center had an extremely high response rate with 297 of the 304 employees participating.

In addition to overall job satisfaction, the survey included a series of questions designed to determine how engaged employees are in their workplace, meaning the employee is committed, proud, and loyal to their place of work. An engaged employee also feels a sense of personal responsibility and willingness to be an advocate for the organization. Hedrick Medical Center scored high in this category as well with an overall score of 83.6 percent of employees being engaged.

“These scores show we truly have an amazing staff and team of managers at Hedrick Medical Center,” Matt Wenzel, Hedrick Medical Center CEO, said. “It also shows that Hedrick Medical Center is a great place to work. Studies show that when employees are satisfied and engaged with their jobs, patients are more satisfied with their care. We’re proud of our employees for representing Hedrick so well, and this survey is a great tool to help us continue making it a better place for patients and employees.”
