Giving traumatized kids a head start in healing: innovative Trauma Smart program by Crittenton Children's Center featured on The PBS NewsHour

Every year, thousands of children in the U.S. are expelled from school before they reach kindergarten. Studies show that preschool children are expelled at significantly higher rates than those in kindergarten through 12th grade. The PBS NewsHour special correspondent Molly Knight Raskin visited Crittenton Children's Center to report on a program developed by experts there that is trying to stem this trend by looking beyond the classroom to the issues kids face at home.
