Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Survivorship Program

Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute survivorship experts provide the support and resources to prepare patients physically and mentally for cancer treatment. From diet recommendations to physical therapy, our team uses a multidisciplinary, whole-body approach to help patients prevent and manage the effects of cancer treatment and increase long-term survivorship.

To maximize the benefits, Saint Luke’s patients meet with their survivorship care team at the beginning of treatment. Studies show that exercise and dietary changes can help improve health during and after treatment and may help improve patient outcomes.

Survivorship services include:

  • Diet and exercise plans
  • Physical and occupational therapy
  • Emotional and mental health support
  • Medication management
  • Clinical trial opportunities

At the initial appointment, patients meet with each specialist in the multidisciplinary survivorship team. Specialists will offer personalized recommendations based on each patient’s unique medical history and cancer treatment plan.

Specialists provide strategies to prevent and treat lymphedema, insomnia, fatigue, and neuropathy, as well as many other cancer side effects. Patients will continue to meet with the nurse practitioner at regular intervals during and after treatment.
