Patient Preparation:

Blood samples should be collected before breakfast in the morning and prior to any medication.

Specimen Processing:

1. Do NOT separate the plasma from the cells.
2. Pour off the specimen into a screw top plastic transport tube and freeze the whole blood specimen.
3. To avoid delays in turn around time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.

Unacceptable Condition:
