Frozen serum from SST or red-top tube will NOT be rejected, frozen plasma from a lithium heparin green-top is acceptable.
Minimum Volume:

Specimen Processing:
1. Centrifuge, separate the plasma from the cells, transfer to a plastic transport tube and freeze immediately.
2. To avoid delays in turn around time when requesting multiple test on frozen samples, submit separate frozen samples for each test requested.

Room temperature - unstable
Unacceptable Condition:
Samples that have gross hemolysis, are at room temperature, are thawed or are collected in yellow top (ACD) tubes will be rejected.
Blood spots on filter paper are not an acceptable specimen type.
