Collection Procedure:
1. Label the specimen container with the patient's full name, date of birth, identification number, date and time of collection, initials of the person collecting the specimen and the specimen source.
2. Maintain sterility and forward promptly at room temperature only.
3. If unable to deliver the specimen immediately, it may be refrigerated.
3. When possible, a specimen < 48 hours old is preferred.
