**Due to a nationwide shortage of Navy blue (EDTA) trace element blood collection tubes -- Lavender EDTA tubes are TEMPORARILY being accepted for Lead Pediatric Venous and Lead Adult testing.**

Preferred Volume:
1 mL
Alternate Specimens:
Lavender microtainer (not the preferred sample type) - Capillary (Must be sent to Children's Mercy). See Ordering Instructions below (must be signed-in)
Minimum Volume:
0.5 mL
Collection Procedure:

1. Invert tube several times to mix blood. Do not transfer blood to other containers.
2. Send unprocessed whole blood within 24 hours of collection.

Specimen Processing:

Send whole blood - do not aliquot
