Cardiovascular Outcomes Research Postdoctoral Fellowship Application

Each year, Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, in Kansas City, invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral training program in cardiovascular outcomes research to begin on July 1st. Applications are accepted each year for the following year beginning July 1st through September 15th.

Funded by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, this T32 fellowship is hosted by Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in collaboration with the University of Kansas.

This training program offers:

  • Hands-on research experiences with access to highly experienced statisticians and numerous databases including:
    • Multicenter outcome registries
    • Clinical trial databases
    • National quality databases
    • Publically available clinical trial and observational data sets
  • Multidisciplinary individualized mentorship
  • Opportunity to participate in designing and executing clinical trials
  • Earn an MS in Bioinformatics with an emphasis in Clinical Research
  • Earn a Certificate in Biomedical Technology Entrepreneurship
  • Full-time salaried position based on NIH stipend scales
  • Insurance benefits, vacation time, tuition, and travel funds for professional conferences

Integrate Outcomes Research with Cardiology Training

We offer a combined Clinical Cardiology & Outcomes Research Pathway that integrates outcomes research with clinical training (2 years of T32 plus 2 or 3 years of clinical cardiology). Learn more about the ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship.

Eligibility

  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents
  • Possess an MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree;
    • Physician candidates must have completed residency training
  • Applicants are welcome from health service professions including internal medicine, cardiology, public health, neurology, nursing, pharmacy, psychology and other health related fields
