Collection Procedure:
1. As quickly as possible after the collection of the CSF, add 1 mL CSF to a chilled collection tube containing 2 mL 8% perchloric acid.
2. Mix well for 30 seconds and place in an ice bath for 10 minutes.
3. Centrifuge for 10 minutes at 1500 xg.
4. Decant the supernatant into a plastic transport tube and freeze.
