Biography

Dr. Joseph Goeke was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, attending medical school at St. Louis University.  He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at St. Louis University and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute/University of Missouri Kansas City.  He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Adult Cardiac Echocardiography and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.  He practices general clinical cardiology based at the Saint Luke's North campus.  In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Goeke is heavily involved in the administrative side of the practice.  He is a member of the Saint Luke's Cardiovascular Consultants (SLCC) Board of Directors and Chairman of the SLCC Clinical Operations Committee with the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of the practice.  He is the Medical Director of the Saint Luke's North office and Co-Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line EHR/IT Committee.  He joined the staff at Saint Luke's Hospital in 2006.  His practice philosophy is, "I believe in straight forward medicine: using proven science and clear language to treat patients the way I would like my family members treated.  I believe in being courteous, being on time for appointments, and building long term partnerships.  My ultimate goal is to maximize my patient's quality of life."
