About Jay H. Rapley
Jay Rapley, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and board-certified sports medicine orthopedic surgeon at Rockhill Orthopaedic Specialists.
Dr. Rapley became an orthopedic surgeon to assist and enable patients to resume the activities they love. He is especially passionate about knees and shoulders because of the small details in each joint that aide in a patient's improvement and outcome. Dr. Rapley takes pride in the tangible differences in each patient's treatment and recovery.
Dr. Rapley received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Life Science from Kansas State University. After obtaining his medical degree from University of Kansas Medical School, he completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery from the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed a fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine from Plano Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and completed a Foot and Ankle fellowship from University of Missouri-Columbia.
While in residency, he was selected as Outstanding Resident of the Year and received several honors for excellence in patient care.
Dr. Rapley actively supports the local community by providing team physician coverage for athletes at local high schools during the fall sports season. He has authored numerous scientific research articles and has presented his research at both regional and national academic conferences.

Dr. Rapley was fantastic! He ordered extensive X-rays of my shoulder and studied them even before seeing me. Then, he walked me through each x-ray explaining the situation. He is truly an expert!
