When Jackie, pictured with her son Brooks, was pregnant, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 chronic kidney disease. After Brooks was born and undergoing a kidney transplant, Jackie is back to enjoying life.

A retired Chillicothe Police Department sergeant, John Valbracht enjoys restoring old vehicles. But when John, 70, was alone working on an old trailer, a routine task turned dangerous.  

The Emergency Medicine rotation will provide students exposure and opportunity to participate in the essential roles of the pharmacist in the Emergency Department through the activities outlined below.

Emergency Department nurse Kathi Tolly was working the night shift at Wright Memorial Hospital completing a virtual training on tPA, the clot-busting drug that stops brain damage during strokes. Minutes later, she herself had a stroke and needed tPA.

Meghan Geivett has her life invested in Saint Luke’s. Not only does she work for Saint Luke's but she also owes her health to the Saint Luke’s team.

While the hospital’s EMS volunteers do not provide patient-saving care, their presence helps the paramedics and EMT’s who do.
