Violence in hospitals against nurses, doctors, and other staff has risen over the past decade. Health care personnel are five times more likely to experience workplace violence than people in other industries.
Representatives of Saint Luke’s Health System, along with other area hospitals and Kansas law enforcement organizations, came together to urge the Kansas Legislature to approve a bill creating new crimes of interfering with a health care worker.
