    Only about 10% of people who go into sudden cardiac arrest outside of the hospital survive. Jim Riffe of Lee's Summit, Missouri is lucky to be one of those few, thanks to quick action from his wife and daughter.

    After the traumatic episode in 2021, Jim continued heart care at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, opting to undergo a catheter ablation procedure with Dr. Sanjaya Gupta, a cardiologist at the institute.

    Now, Jim is sharing his story of survival with FOX 4, along with his gratitude for finding world class heart care down the road from his home—after weighing options with top cardiologist across the country.
