    Thousands of Americans have been infected with cyclosporiasis, an intestinal infection caused by a microscopic parasite that can contaminate fresh fruits and vegetables.

    As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns providers of the increase in cases, Dr. Ginny Boos, director of infection prevention at Saint Luke’s, talked with Kansas City media outlets about the widespread outbreak.
