Health News You Can Use: Transgender Health Care

More than 2 million people identify as transgender in the U.S., according to the Human Rights Campaign. Yet while transgender people may have gained more representation in pop culture and daily life in recent years, they still face severe discrimination, stigma, and inequality.

This week, during Transgender Awareness Week, we’re talking to Dr. Kris Humphreys, primary care physician at  Saint Luke’s Primary Care—Mission Farms and the only certified member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) in the Kansas City area, about the importance of equity in health care for transgender individuals.
