FOX 4: Local Veteran Finds Relief With New ‘Game Changer’ Sleep Apnea Device
More than a quarter of American adults aged 30-70 have obstructive sleep apnea. While the CPAP machine is the most effective way to treat sleep apnea, some patients, like veteran David Cotter, can’t tolerate the mask that users have to wear at night.
Luckily, Cotter found a ‘game changer’ solution through Saint Luke's and a new implantable device that treats the condition. FOX 4 spoke with Cotter and his physician, Valerie Wood, MD, an otolaryngologist at Saint Luke's, about how this device is changing the game for patients with sleep apnea.
