Allied Health Education Programs

Saint Luke’s Allied Health Education Programs offer students nationally accredited programs to prepare them to excel in a variety of medical professions. Each program combines classroom learning with hands-on clinical or internship experience. Students have access to the latest technology and learn from instructors with expertise in their specialized fields, which has led to outstanding pass rates and career placements.

Schools of Medical Imaging

School of Radiologic Technology

This two-year nationally accredited hospital-based program prepares students for the American Registry of Radiologic Technology National Certification exam.

The program offers:

  • Extensive clinical and didactic instruction
  • Small class sizes and one-on-one instruction
  • A 100 percent pass rate on the certification exam
  • Instructors with more than 30 years of educational experience

School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography

This nationally accredited 18-month program trains students in a wide range of sonography, including abdominal, neurological, obstetrical/gynecological, and vascular ultrasound.

The program offers:

  • Small class sizes with one-on-one instruction
  • Extensive clinical and didactic education
  • A 100 percent pass rate since 2006

School of Echocardiography

This 18-month program that trains students in adult cardiac sonography with an introduction to vascular ultrasound and prepares students for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Adult Cardiac registry.

The program offers:

  • Offers extensive clinical and didactic education

Internships

The Computed Tomography (CT) Internship is a six-month certificate-based internship offered by Saint Luke’s Health System. Interns receive didactic education (two hours a week) along with designated clinical experience schedule (16 hours a week).

The Interventional Radiology Internship is a 12-month certificate-based internship. After completing the clinical training and didactic coursework, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Vascular Interventional Boards.

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Internship is a 12-month certificate-based internship offered by Saint Luke’s Health System. Interns receive didactic education (two hours a week) along with a designated clinical experience schedule of (16 hours a week).

Phlebotomy Education Program

This nationally accredited five-week course is offered several times a year to prepare students to become certified phlebotomists.

The program offers:

  • Education in theory and technique
  • Outstanding exam pass rates
  • Career opportunities in a variety of health care settings

Medical Lab Science Program

This nationally accredited 11-month program prepares students to become certified medical laboratory scientists.

The program offers:

  • Three-to-one student-teacher ratio
  • The only Roche Molecular Center of Excellence molecular diagnostics laboratory in Kansas and Missouri
  • Lecture and bench instruction with more than 50 Medical Laboratory Scientists

Clinical Pastoral Education Program

This nationally accredited program accepts students from all religious traditions, denominations, cultures, and nationalities to prepare students to serve as chaplains, facilitating whole-person health and healing.

The program offers one-on-one supervision during training and hands-on experience providing spiritual care for hospitalized patients. 

  • 12- and 30-week internships
  • One-year residency 
  • Three-year supervisory residency
