Two Saint Luke’s Board Members Receive State-Wide Trustee of the Year Honors

Saint Luke’s Health System congratulates Tom Wagstaff and Greg Bentz, who were both recognized this year for their exceptional board service and commitment to health care in our region. Tom was recognized in November as Missouri Hospital Association Trustee of the Year, and Greg was honored in September as Kansas Hospital Association Trustee of the Year.

“It would be a special year for even one of our board members to be awarded this title by these well-respected state-wide organizations,” said SLHS President and CEO Melinda L. Estes, MD. “But the incredible honor to have two recognized—on both sides of the state line—is a true accomplishment. These trustees are being recognized for their volunteer spirit, expertise, dedication, and commitment to exceptional health care for the residents of Kansas and Missouri. In essence, Tom and Greg go far beyond the call of duty to make our organization the best it can be.”

Both men are longtime Saint Luke’s board members.

Tom serves as Chair of the Boards for Saint Luke’s Health System, Saint Luke’s Physician Group, and Saint Luke’s Foundation, and is former President of the Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City Board.

Greg is Vice Chair of the Saint Luke’s Health System Board and Chair of the Saint Luke’s South Hospital Board. His board service has also included Saint Luke’s Physician Group and Saint Luke’s Hospital.

Greg is senior partner with Polsinelli, and Tom is founding partner of Wagstaff & Cartmell, LLP.

“We are deeply fortunate to benefit from their time, expertise, and unwavering belief in Saint Luke’s and our mission,” Dr. Estes said.
