Lee's Summit Tribune: Celebrate World Breastfeeding Week August 1-7

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated globally August 1-7. This annual awareness campaign aims to highlight the many benefits of breastfeeding for mothers, infants, children, families and the environment throughout the world. The theme for this year’s celebration is Breastfeeding, Foundation of Life.

In an article in the Lee's Summit Tribune: "Celebrate World Breastfeeding Week August 1-7", International Board Certified Lactation Consultant at Saint Luke’s East Hospital, Marji Stark shares why breastfeeding is so important for the health and growth of babies and how long The World Health Organization recommends a mother breastfeed her child, if possible.
