KMBC: GOING HOME: Saint Luke's hospitals holding celebrations for recovered COVID-19 patients

Celebrations like these are a sign of a light at the end of the tunnel for the coronavirus pandemic, and for the patient involved, home is at the end of a tunnel of hospital workers.

Saint Luke's is throwing miniature celebrations as patients who had been fighting COVID-19 are released from treatment to return home. Doctors and nurses in PPE lined the hall to clap and cheer as Paul was wheeled out of the hospital.

Saint Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, Missouri, posted a video of a patient named Paul Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the Saint Luke's Health System posted a video of another patient, Courtney, surrounded by cheering hospital staff as he was wheeled out of the hospital to the song "Survivor" by Destiny's Child.
