KCTV: Saint Luke's East celebrating victories over the novel coronavirus

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Saint Luke's East Hospital is finding cause for hope and celebration.

This week, the Progressive Care Unit shared two videos of the team clapping and cheering as healthy patients were wheeled off the floor to go home.

KCTV talked to Carrie Willis, the PCU nurse manager at Saint Luke's East Hospital, about how the patients' success is everyone's success.

"I think it was just as much to celebrate the patients getting to go home and make them feel good about it as it was to kind of celebrate each other too and to have something to cheer about and be excited about," Willis said.

"It is a scary time, but we are all in it together, we'll get through this together, and we will come out stronger."
