Allen County Regional Hospital and Anderson County Hospital Welcome Megan Morriss, MD, to the Medical Staff

Iola, Ks. - Allen County Regional Hospital and Anderson County Hospital are pleased to welcome general surgeon Megan Morriss, MD, to the medical team.

Dr. Morriss is board-certified in general surgery and has specialized training in benign and malignant breast surgery, laparoscopic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and hernia surgery. Additional clinical interests include skin and soft-tissue pathology, vein care, and dialysis access surgery. 

“I strive to deliver compassionate and patient-centered care,” Dr. Morriss said. “My hope is to build a relationship with each and every patient, allowing me to help patients understand their options and provide individualized recommendations every step of the way.”

Prior to joining Saint Luke’s, Dr. Morriss earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Salina, Kansas, and completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Morriss grew up in Larned, a town in central Kansas with a population around 3,600. She feels a special connection to small communities and understands the challenges of rural healthcare can sometimes be different from those faced in the city.

“We’re excited to have Dr. Morriss coming on board,” shared Jeremy Armstrong, Administrator. “She brings surgical experience and expertise and knows how important it is to keep patients close to home for their care and recovery. She’s going to be a great fit with our surgical teams in Iola and Garnett, and with our patients.”

When not working, Dr. Morriss enjoys spending time with her husband and three young sons, traveling, and running.
