About James McIntosh, MD
Dr. McIntosh was born and raised in Independence, Mo., and as a native, he takes great pride in serving the people of Eastern Jackson County. After graduating from Truman High School, he attended Vanderbilt University. He went on to graduate from the University of Missouri Medical School and complete a surgical internship and residency in urology at the University of Kansas. Since joining Advanced Urologic Associates in 2008, Dr. McIntosh has had the opportunity to help develop a busy robotics program at Saint Luke's East Hospital and has completed approximately 400 robotics cases in the past five years. The spectrum of robotics cases he has performed include prostatectomy with lymphadenectomy, partial and radical nephrectomy, ureteral resection and reconstruction, and adrenalectomy. Philosophically, Dr. McIntosh feels that open lines of communication are critical for patient care. He encourages patients and providers to contact him at any time to discuss their questions or concerns.
