Why I Give: The McGee Family
Anne Gagel-McGee's passion for Saint Luke's Hospital The Children’s SPOT began in 2011 after the birth of her triplets, Cormac, Eoin, and Fintan.
Weighing an average of three pounds each, the boys spent two months in Saint Luke’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. When they were ready to go home, Anne and Simon were quickly connected to The Children’s SPOT through the NICU Development Follow-Up Program.
As the boys progressed through their benchmark milestones, they began to realize that Fintan and Eoin needed additional physical and speech therapy. Within a year of physical therapy, both caught up to where they needed to be developmentally.
“We can’t put a price on what we received from the SPOT, but we can give back,” Anne said.
Anne and her family support The Children’s SPOT’s Guardian Angel Fund which provides financial support for children to receive services at SPOT.
"There are so many unknowns in life, and I take comfort in knowing that a child can go somewhere like the SPOT, and I can watch their eyes light up with pure joy at a place that truly understands their needs and provides a family with hope," she said.
The triplets now are thriving 5th graders who compete in cross-country and play musical instruments.
