Saint Luke’s Hospital is the Third in the Nation to Achieve Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification
The Comprehensive Cardiac Center (CCC) certification was created by The Joint Commission in 2017 to showcase cardiac programs with a complete comprehensive approach to care and that are committed to excellent quality and outcomes. Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is just the third hospital in the United States to achieve the certification and the first in Missouri.
The Joint Commission’s CCC certification touches every point in a patient’s continuum of care, and it ensures world-class service that puts the patient and their families first. To obtain the CCC certification, Saint Luke’s Hospital was required to show excellence and exceed quality measurements in at least seven of the following areas:
- Cardiac rehabilitation
- Heart failure
- Cardiac arrest/resuscitation
- Coronary artery bypass
- Diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedure
- Valve replacement/repair
- Percutaneous coronary intervention
- ST elevation myocardial infarction
- Arrhythmia management
- Acute myocardial infarction
