KSHB: 'Saint Luke's Saved My Life': Arkansas Man Gets Life-Saving Heart Transplant in Kansas City
63-year-old Michael Sewell started running in 2004. He's run 27 marathons and counting, but that all came to halt in 2021 when he started having heart attacks.
He was eventually life-flighted to Saint Luke's, where he received a life-saving heart transplant—becoming the 1,030th recipient at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute.
This Valentine's Day, Michael and Dr. Andrew Kao, medical director of heart transplantation at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, talk to KSHB about his journey.
