Wright Memorial Hospital offers COVID-19 reminders, as cases rise in area

Wright Memorial Hospital would like to relay some important reminders to area residents concerning COVID-19 in the region as positive cases have risen quickly in the last few weeks.

  • Wright Memorial Hospital’s COVID-19 drive-thru testing site located at the Green Hills Medical Clinic (3300 E 10th Street in Trenton) is still operating, Monday through Friday. Drive-thru testing for COVID-19 is available to all residents in the region who meet testing criteria and who obtain an order from a health care provider prior to arriving at the testing site.
  • Vaccines are available at multiple locations in Trenton, including clinics at Wright Memorial Physicians’ Group every Friday. All residents 18 years and older are eligible to schedule an appointment by calling 660-358-5750. Other locations in Trenton offering vaccines include the Grundy County Health Department, and Trenton Hy-Vee Pharmacy. Saint Luke’s Mercer County Clinic in Princeton hosts vaccination clinics each Thursday, and those can be scheduled by calling 660-748-4040.
  • Per CDC guidelines, persons not fully vaccinated should remain cautious by social distancing when possible and by wearing a mask when in public.

“If you’ve been waiting to get vaccinated, now is the time,” said Dr. Khannah Smith, Wright Memorial Physicians’ Group. “With all the traveling and events that take place in the summer, even if you are young and healthy, it’s important to do all we can to mitigate the continued spread of the virus. If you have concerns, please talk to your health care provider. We’re all in this together, and we must work together to ensure life gets back to normal as quickly as possible."
