Saint Luke’s Health System Announces Opening of Saint Luke’s Convenient Care Clinics

KANSAS CITY, MO — Overland Park residents soon will have a convenient new option for treatment when they are feeling under the weather and don’t have access to a primary care physician.

Saint Luke’s Health System will open the first Saint Luke’s Convenient Care clinic in November 2015 at the Hy-Vee grocery store, located at 8501 W. 95th St. in Overland Park. This will be the first of several retail health clinics Saint Luke’s plans to open during the coming months.

“Saint Luke’s has a long history of providing the Kansas City community with the best care close to home whenever possible,” said Robert S. Bonney, senior vice president, non-acute services and business development for Saint Luke’s Health System. “Hy-Vee shares Saint Luke’s commitment to excellence and to our community, which makes them a natural fit when providing high-quality health care for people close to where they live and work.”

Saint Luke’s Convenient Care clinics will be staffed by advanced nurse practitioners and offer treatment immediately and with no appointment for conditions like sore throats, sinus infections, colds and flu, minor cuts and sprains, as well as vaccinations and boosters. The clinics also will offer new patients access for referrals to primary care and specialist physicians throughout Saint Luke’s Health System.

“Hy-Vee’s top priority is taking care of its customers. With the new Saint Luke’s Convenient Care retail health clinic, our customers will not only have access to our in-store dietitians and pharmacists, but now they will be able to seek health, wellness and preventive care services all in one stop,” said Andy McCann, Hy-Vee’s executive vice president, chief administrative officer and vice chairman. “We are excited to work with Saint Luke’s Health System so that we can continue to help our customers lead healthier, happier lives.”

“Saint Luke’s looks forward to the opening of this new clinic at Hy-Vee and growing our commitment to making health care accessible for those with busy lives,” said Bonney.

Saint Luke’s Convenient Care clinics will be open extended hours on weekdays and weekends, and offer the benefit of patient connectivity through electronic medical records with physicians and specialists throughout Saint Luke’s Health System.
