Saint Luke's Foundation hosts 21st Annual Once Upon a Time event benefiting Saint Luke's The Children's SPOT

February 26, 2018 - Once Upon a Time, a benefit for Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City’s The Children’s SPOT, was held on Sunday, February 25th at the InterContinental Hotel on the Country Club Plaza. This family-friendly event, held annually for 21 years, is a fun afternoon for children and their families and benefits the mission of the SPOT to provide therapeutic care to infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities and delays. No child is turned away from the SPOT because of a lack of ability to pay. All funds raised at Once Upon a Time benefit the scholarship fund at the SPOT.

Once Upon a Time is an event like no other.  Kids and grown-ups all joined in this fun afternoon of carnival games, face painting, crafts and more, all to benefit the children and families of The Children's SPOT. During a delicious kid-friendly dinner, emcee and planning committee member Amy Hawley Rose thanked the event sponsors that gave so generously to help the kids at SPOT. Amy also shared a video that told the story of the SPOT in pictures, and through the stories of some of the families that have benefited from therapy at SPOT. Then, everyone hit the dancefloor to celebrate raising over $100K for the scholarship fund at SPOT. Sluggerrr, the Chiefs Cheerleaders, and even Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker joined in the fun.
