Across the Kansas City area, hospitals are seeing record numbers of patients with COVID-19, and numbers continue to rise.

On Wednesday, Saint Luke's Health System was caring for 181 patients with the virus.

KMBC talked to Dr. Andrew Schlachter, a pulmonologist and critical care physician at Saint Luke's, about the surging cases.
