David Gibson was recently honored with the Foundation Fellow Award at the Saint Luke’s Foundation Annual Recognition Luncheon, held June 27 at Mission Hills Country Club. The Foundation Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have given time, expertise, and charitable support to advance research, education, and medical programs at Saint Luke’s.

David has been a part of the Saint Luke’s community since the moment he was born at Saint Luke’s Hospital. His father, David M. Gibson, MD, was a pathologist at Saint Luke’s, and his mother, Charlotte, is a member of the Saint Luke’s Auxiliary. David has served multiple terms on the boards of both Saint Luke’s Hospital and Saint Luke’s Foundation, and recently returned to the board of Saint Luke’s Health System.

“There just simply isn’t anyone else who brings the quiet thoughtfulness and dedication to service that David brings to Saint Luke’s,” said Tom Wagstaff, a long-time friend and chair of the Saint Luke’s Health System board. “He is not the loudest voice in the room, and he is not the voice we hear from at every turn. But when he does have something to say, everyone listens because we know it is important.”

In addition to honoring David for his dedication to the Saint Luke’s community, the newest members of the Heritage and Honor Societies were recognized. Heritage Society members have invested in the future success of Saint Luke’s through a legacy gift in their will or estate plans. Honor Society members are recognized for giving cumulative gifts of $25,000 or more.

During the luncheon, Melinda Estes, MD, President and CEO of Saint Luke’s Health System, and Michael VanDerhoef, CEO of Saint Luke’s Foundation and Senior Vice President of Development, shared the latest developments from across the System.
