Kansas City, Missouri — Saint Luke’s announced Sydney McBride, MHA, LNHA, CPASRM, has been named president of Saint Luke’s Bishop Spencer Place.

McBride’s background includes 10 years of executive leadership experience with Ohio Living, a large retirement community similar to Bishop Spencer Place, along with extensive experience in all phases of senior living. Ohio Living has 11 communities across the state that offer independent and assisted living, rehabilitation, long-term care, memory care, palliative medicine, and home care and hospice services.

“Sydney brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of success in skilled health care operations,” said Jani Johnson, MSN, RN, president of Saint Luke’s Central Region. “With a commitment to quality and compassionate care, we are confident that Sydney will expertly lead this vibrant and welcoming community that so many people choose to call home.”

As president, McBride will oversee the short- and long-term vision and overall direction of Bishop Spencer Place. She will be responsible for maintaining operations while meeting and exceeding the needs of residents and supporting the communities it serves. McBride's previous experience with memory care at Ohio Living will be especially beneficial as Bishop Spencer Place will open a dedicated memory care area this fall for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other memory conditions.

McBride earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and her master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.

She assumed her new role on Aug. 11.
