Aortic valve disease can involve stenosis (narrowing) or regurgitation (leaking). Aortic Stenosis means blood cannot flow freely through the "front doors" in the heart.

An open, invasive aortic valve replacement is a surgery to replace a poorly working aortic valve with an artificial valve. The heart has 4 valves.
