    Kidney Transplant Brings Two Sisters Together at Saint Luke’s

    Ileana Avalos had been through this once before. In 2003, she was 23 and just two years into her career as a scheduling assistant at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. She was also pregnant with her first child, but a severe case of eclampsia left her with scar tissue on her right kidney and in need of a kidney transplant.
