Anderson County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), a department of Anderson County Hospital, was recently awarded a grant from the MFA Oil Foundation to purchase mobile radio communications equipment.

A gift of $1,000 to Anderson County EMS allowed the department to not only replace but upgrade several emergency response bags.

Individuals enrolled in an accredited nursing program and nurses who want to further their education are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which was established in 1981.

It is often called “the silent killer” because most who have it don’t experience any symptoms. Lisa was on blood pressure medication but had stopped taking it because she experienced side effects. She put off seeing her doctor about it for several months.
