About Dung Mac, MD
Dung Mac, MD, is board certified in internal medicine. As a hospitalist, he coordinates all aspects of care for patients who are in the hospital. Dr. Mac continues to study and follow evidence-based medicine while providing compassionate care in the best interest of the patient. Patients in his care should expect to be treated with respect, be well-informed, and to have autonomy in their health care decisions.
Dr. Mac has a special interest in treating patients with chronic illnesses including heart failure, diabetes, renal failure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Prior to medical school, Dr. Mac served as a volunteer with Extra Hands for ALS. He was assigned to provide general assistance to a family whose father had been diagnosed with ALS, which included helping to build a wheelchair ramp for the family's home. As he spent time with the family and witnessed the disease progression firsthand, Dr. Mac felt compelled to do more. He wanted to play an active role in healing and the experience inspired his path toward internal medicine.
Dr. Mac grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and is glad to have the opportunity to return to Kansas to be near family and friends. In his free time, he continues to volunteer and enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring nature.
