Physician's Weekly: Quality Improvement Initiative Ups Adherence to Medical Therapy for Heart Failure
A recent study showed that for patients with heart failure, hospital participation in the nationwide IMPLEMENT-HF initiative improves patient care and outcomes.
The study, led by Andrew Sauer, M.D., cardiologist at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, evaluated patients hospitalized for heart failure at hospitals that volunteered to participate in IMPLEMENT-HF, a quality improvement initiative to enhance care and outcomes by increasing use of quadruple medication therapy (QMT).
