According to the CDC, more than 38 million Americans have diabetes. Individuals with diabetes also have a significantly higher risk of developing coronary artery disease and stroke, making comprehensive care critical.
KCTV talked to Melissa Magwire, RN, MSN, CDE, program director of the Saint Luke’s Michael & Marlys Haverty Cardiometabolic Center of Excellence, about advances in diabetes treatment and how the Cardiometabolic Center is making a difference in the lives of diabetes patients.
