Fundraising for Saint Luke’s
Saint Luke’s Foundation partners with corporations, foundations, and individuals to help generate funds for clinical research, new technology, and the pursuit of excellence in patient care.
Host an event to support Saint Luke’s
A third-party event is a fundraising effort managed independently by individuals, families, or organizations to benefit Saint Luke’s. These efforts and the funds they raise help us continue to provide lifesaving research and deliver exceptional care to our community.
Saint Luke’s is grateful for every gift and for all who support our mission.
Fundraiser guidelines
- Third-party fundraisers must reflect the mission of Saint Luke’s. The Foundation may decline proposals that are not aligned.
- Third-party fundraisers are responsible for all logistics, contracts, insurance, and permits. The Foundation assumes no legal or financial liability.
- All vendor agreements must include a statement clarifying the organizer is not acting on behalf of Saint Luke’s.
- The Foundation reserves the right to approve co-beneficiaries.
- Third-party events must be executed entirely by the third-party organizer. Foundation staff may be available to only offer guidance.
- Promotions must clearly identify Saint Luke’s as the beneficiary—not the event organizer.
- Designated funds must be documented and approved by the Foundation in advance.
- Note that raffles or games of chance may require permits and additional lead time.
- Organizers may not represent themselves as acting on behalf of Saint Luke’s.
Financial and charitable giving guidelines
- All event costs must be covered by the organizer. The Foundation does not provide funding or assume risk.
- Expenses must be paid before proceeds are donated.
- The Foundation’s tax-exempt status cannot be used for purchases for the event.
- Promotional materials must clearly state what portion of proceeds benefits Saint Luke’s.
- The Foundation cannot issue tax receipts for payments made to the event organizer.
- Donations are tax-deductible only if made directly to Saint Luke’s or Saint Luke’s Foundation.
Marketing and promotion guidelines
- Saint Luke’s and Saint Luke’s Foundation are not sponsors of third-party events.
- Materials must clearly state the fundraiser is independently organized.
- Avoid calling payments “donations” or “tax-deductible contributions” unless appropriate. Suggested language:
“Net proceeds from this event will benefit [program/entity name].” - All materials must be reviewed and approved by Saint Luke’s Marketing & Communications before use.
- Always write “Saint Luke’s Foundation” or “Saint Luke’s” (spell out “Saint”).
- Saint Luke’s logos are not permitted for use.
- The Foundation may acknowledge events publicly but is not obligated to do so.
